Town Council Special Meeting
A special meeting of the Town Council will be held at Town Hall on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., to proceed with the nomination of the Alternate Mayor.
Precision:
Councillor Marie-Elaine Pitre's designation as Alternate Mayor ended on July 31, so a new designation is required.
The Cities and Towns Act stipulates that Council must designate a councillor as Alternate Mayor for the period it determines. The Alternate Mayor has and exercises the powers of the Mayor when he is absent from the territory of the municipality or prevented from fulfilling the duties of his office.
