The Town of Rosemère Maintains 5-Ribbon Excellence
With a rating of 93%, the Town of Rosemère's library service has once again earned 5 ribbons for the year 2023, the highest level awarded by the BiblioQUALITÉ program. While the average overall rating for Québec municipalities belonging to the Association des bibliothèques publiques du Québec (ABPQ) is 70%, the Town of Rosemère stands out with a rating that is Rosemère 23% higher. This mark of distinction once again illustrates the outstanding quality of services offered at the library.
To obtain such recognition, five quantifiable indicators from the Québec public library guidelines are evaluated:
- Acquisition expenses
- Hours of service
- Surface area
- Seating capacity
- Human resources
In addition, the independent organization's report shows a 27% increase in library use and an 11% increase in activities since the last evaluation in 2022.
"These findings by BiblioQUALITÉ demonstrate the Town of Rosemère's commitment to offering a stimulating, inclusive environment and its desire to promote all residents’ access to knowledge. Congratulations to the team and to Library Head Manager Myriam Harvey, for her extraordinary service, enriching activities and contagious passion for culture. The growing number of loans, members and activities shows that we're on the right track and that the library is an essential pillar of the community," stated Mayor Eric Westram.
About BiblioQUALITÉ
The BiblioQUALITÉ program recognizes, on an objective and sustainable basis, the investment efforts made in public libraries by each municipality that is a member of the ABPQ or a participating regional Réseau BIBLIO. Throughout Québec, municipalities are working to improve the living environment in their respective communities by actively participating in the range of services offered to their residents, including public libraries. Achieving the highest level should serve as constant motivation to continually improve the services offered by public libraries to their various clienteles.
