Sonia Montpetit joins the Town of Rosemère as Director of the Urban Planning Department

Rosemère's Town Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Sonia Montpetit as Director of Urban Planning. Her arrival coincides with the creation of the Urban Planning Department, previously known as the Permits and Inspections Department. The name change reflects the direction that the Town wishes to take in terms of urbanistic development.

Mrs. Montpetit has extensive experience, most notably as one of Ville de Montréal’s Division Managers, and has held various positions relating to planning and development, permits and inspections as well as urban planning. A graduate of Université de Montréal in urban planning, Mrs. Montpetit also holds a law certificate. Over the years, she has taken professional development training in a number of fields to perfect her skills and acquire new ones.

"I’m pleased to welcome Mrs. Montpetit to our senior management team. Her professional rigour and proactive approach in dealing with residents are important assets for our organization, and I’m confident that she will successfully manage the Department," mentioned Catherine Blais-Adam, Rosemère's Town Manager.

"Mrs. Montpetit's skills and the experience she has acquired working for various municipalities, including Laval and Montréal, will enable her to meet the urban planning challenges ahead in Rosemère. We wish her every success in her new role," stated Eric Westram, Mayor of the Town of Rosemère.
