Rosemère Maintains its 5-Flower Champion Status!
For the fourth edition in a row, the Town of Rosemère achieved the great honour of being granted 5 fleurons ("flowers") by the Corporation des Fleurons du Québec at the award ceremony held on November 21 in Saint-Hyacinthe. Such prestigious recognition spotlights the outstanding and spectacular horticultural enhancements of the Town's public, institutional, commercial and private sites as well as its sustainable development initiatives. The fleurons awards have three-year terms and come with a professional evaluation report suggesting ways of further improving municipal greening.
And so, until 2026, the Town maintains the highest distinction recognized by the Corporation. Rosemère also stands out at the provincial level, being one of only 23 municipalities to hold a 5- fleuron rating out of a total of 318 municipalities that received fleurons.
Favourites and top ratings
The Town earned a top rating in the Community Initiatives and Sustainable Development category. The evaluator, Mrs. de Chantal, noted in her report that: "Rosemère is not only very dynamic in terms of beautification and the environment, but it is also avant-garde." Bourbonnière Park and Hamilton House received full points as well for their complete and well-maintained landscaping as well as for their phenomenal number of mature plants and trees. Perfect ratings were moreover awarded to the Public Works building and the H.-J. Hemens Library, with their very flowery landscapes. "The selection of plants used reflects the great expertise of the horticulturalists," added Mrs. de Chantal. In terms of favourites, Pioneers Park, the Bouthillier Marsh walkway and the Rosemère train station captivated the evaluator with their complete and successful layouts.
"We are very honoured to receive this award once again, as Rosemère is not only maintaining its achievements, but also even improving its rating compared to the last classification. We share this recognition with the residents, merchants, institutions and municipal employees who contribute towards sustainably beautifying our living environment. Let's continue our efforts and be very proud of these 5 fleurons, which confirm that Rosemère ranks among the most beautiful municipalities in Québec!" mentioned Eric Westram, Mayor of Rosemère.
