New Outdoor Activity: A Winter’s Evening by Torchlight

ROSEMÈRE, Thursday, February 6, 2020 – The Town of Rosemère is proud to invite cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and walking enthusiasts to a new family-friendly torchlight event on Friday, February 28, starting at 7 p.m.

“What better way to celebrate the start of the school break than by bringing people together to have fun and get some exercise?” said Rosemère Mayor Eric Westram. “For our community, being active is more than a philosophy – it’s a way of life. Some people think physical activity is easier in the summer months, but that’s not true! We’re lucky in Rosemère to have such a beautiful ski and snowshoe trail open to the public at no charge. This new event will be a great opportunity to make sure that all our residents know about this wonderful winter recreation site.”

The event will take place at the former Rosemère golf course, where a 3.5-km path will be lit with some 200 torches. At the end of the trail, participants can enjoy on-site entertainment while warming up with coffee and hot chocolate on straw bales by the bonfire. Attendees are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp for the trail.
