Culture days Program of Activities in Rosemère

Like the other municipalities in MRC Thérèse-de Blainville, the Town of Rosemère is announcing the activities that will be held within Journées de la culture (Culture days), September 29 – October 1. During these three days, Rosemerites are invited to take part in free activities, open to all, designed to promote greater access to the arts and culture.

"I'm inviting Rosemerites to take part in these activities that are sure to entertain the whole family. In Rosemère, culture holds an important place and we want to make it accessible to the whole community, by participating in events such as the Journées de la culture," stated Madeleine Leduc, Mayor of Rosemère.

During these three days devoted to culture, a number of activities for residents will be taking place:

Sunday, October 1:

  • Ritournelle family show: Music and songs from New France:
In period costumes, two performers will revive the songs and music that livened up the days of the first families who came to settle in New France. To set the pace for workers in the various trades, to provide entertainment at parties and mark the major events in their lives, our ancestors brought their songs and instruments from the old countries. Our great grandparents played and sang these for their children, who kept them in their memories like a big secret to share... Just as in the villages of yesteryear, youngsters and grown-ups are invited to take part!
Time: 2 p.m.

Registration required

All weekend long:

  • Exhibition entitled "Rivière des Mille-Îles, notre patrimoine", (The Mille-Îles River, our heritage) by the Rosemère Artists Gathering in the solarium

All activities will be held at Rosemère public library, 339 Grande-Côte Road in Rosemère. For activities requiring registration, participants must phone 450 621-3500, ext. 7221.
