Christmas Celebration and Market — Three days of festivities!

ROSEMÈRE, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 – This year again, Downtown Rosemère will be aglow in magical colours for the Christmas Celebration and Market. Rendered possible thanks to the close collaboration of the Town of Rosemère with L’Autre Marché and a number of the region’s merchants, this event will unfold from Friday to Sunday, December 9 to 11, at the Memorial Community Centre. For three days, Rosemerites will get to take in the festivities in a warm and inviting ambience.

The Christmas market will be open as of 5 p.m. Friday, at the Memorial Community Centre located at 202 Grande-Côte. As of 7 p.m., it’s the traditional torchlight procession to the Memorial Community Centre, with torches handed out in the train station parking lot from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. It should be noted that, for this event, Grande-Côte Road will be closed to automotive traffic from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., from Couture Street to Labelle Boulevard.

A series of activities are planned for December 10, including the presence of Santa himself and two performances (at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.) of "La magie de Noël” (the Magic of Christmas), a show for young children, as well as concerts by the "Petit Choeur de Rosemère” (at the United Church) and the "Choeur classique des Basses-Laurentides” (at Sainte-Françoise-Cabrini Church). The market will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering a variety of delectable products, including vegetables, meat, cheeses and sweets. There will also be accessories and decorations of all types for those seeking the perfect gift!

Sunday, December 11, the market will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and, bringing the event to a great close, the Rosemère Big Band will be performing at Sainte-Françoise-Cabrini Church, as of 4 p.m.

Rosemère mayor Madeleine Leduc encourages all residents to take part in these festivities: "I invite all Rosemerites to participate in this festive annual event, and to discover the fine products offered by exhibitors at the market. Let yourselves be enthralled by the magic of the season reflected in the various activities open to the entire family,” she stated.

Mayor Madeleine Leduc also made it a point to thank the event’s GOLD collaborator, L’Autre Marché, as well as its SILVER partners: Métro Rosemère, Place Rosemère, Jeunesse Action Rosemère and AGAR (Rosemère Business Association). A detailed program of the event is available on the Town’s website at www.ville.rosemere.qc.ca.
