The Town of Rosemère, in collaboration with the Externat Sacré-Coeur, is proud to welcome OSM in the Parks SiriusXM on August 20, starting at 7:30 p.m., as part of Citizens' Day. The event will take place in Externat Sacré-Cœur's school park. Close to 10,000 people are expected to attend this free outdoor concert, which will include a short tribute to Rosemerite and well-renowned hockey player Mike Bossy. To get the evening off to a wonderful start, a short performance by the Stage Band of the Externat Sacré-Cœur, with the participation of OSM musicians, will be presented at 7 p.m., before the concert.

With tales and legends from around the world as the theme, the concert will be held under the baton of conductor Dina Gilbert. This concert will introduce music lovers to such classics as Alexis le Trotteur, Tommy and Glenn, Clair de lune, Scheherazade and Stravinsky's Firebird. Actress Magalie Lépine-Blondeau will host the evening.

 

"This is an extraordinary event for Rosemerites, who will have the chance to attend a large-scale concert in the heart of nature, close to home," Rosemère Mayor Eric Westram was delighted to mention. "I would like to thank the Externat Sacré-Coeur and many other partners who have made this event possible for our residents. This is a spectacular musical event not to be missed. I invite all Rosemère residents to join us there and look forward to a large turnout among them all," added Mayor Westram in his closing remarks.  

Tribute to Mike Bossy

The theme of legends will take on its full meaning during this evening, as a tribute will be paid to an outstanding man—Mike Bossy—a Rosemerite and hockey player who has left his mark on the history of hockey in Québec and all around the world. 

Active transportation 

For this event, the Town of Rosemère strongly encourages residents to opt for active transportation—walking or cycling--to get to the show, as parking will be limited. Bike parking facilities will be set up at the Externat Sacré-Coeur and a shuttle service will be provided to facilitate transportation from various strategic locations in the Town, including the train station and the Académie Sainte-Thérèse campus in Rosemère. A third park-and-ride lot will also be available. To find out where it will be located, residents can check the Town's website. Please note that parking is prohibited at all times on Rosemère’s streets. 

Residents are encouraged to bring their picnics, folding chairs and bottles of water. Dogs are not allowed at the site. The event will take place regardless of the weather. More details online (at ville.rosemere.qc.ca/home/).
