Amendment to Bylaw on quality of life

The Town of Rosemère has adopted an amendment to its Bylaw on quality of life, more specifically with regard to the hours of work permitted on the weekends. From now on, the hours allowed for work to be carried out on Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This Bylaw refers to such work as the use of electrical equipment, maintenance equipment for landscaping (a lawnmower, for example) and construction equipment. It should be remembered that the work schedule on weekdays remains the same: Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.

In order to inform residents about this change, an awareness campaign under the theme "Together for a quieter community, Keep it Down in Our Town!" has been launched on the Town's various communication platforms in order to notify all residents about these new hours and encourage them to respect them, for the well-being of the community.

"Good relations with neighbours are based on respect," stated Rosemere Mayor Eric Westram, "and civic-mindedness is a shared responsibility in a community. So I am urging all Rosemerites to respect these new hours when it comes time to doing work on weekends and holidays, as a courtesy to their neighbours. By reducing the noise, we are helping ensure greater peace of mind in our neighbourhoods and therefore ensuring a better quality of life in Rosemère," added the Mayor in his closing remarks.
